Build Hard; Not Smart...

The one thing I find amazing about the residential turds being slung about at the moment is the massive false economy.  Apparently we need a separate room for each and every little function we perform in a house, economy of space and adaptable living is not even considered.  In fact, spacial relationships, and performative use is completely ignored.

It’s easy to build an expensive massive house.  Just take loads of money, add an exorbitant amount of square meters and finished off with a coat of expensive appliances, fittings and fixtures.  And you would be a fool.  This is only catering to the ego; the ego of the client, and the ego of the builder.  It’s a giant sky penis for everyone to be envious of.  And it only makes you a fool.
Small, bespoke, and intelligent space is what we should be aiming at, not just to solve the world’s mass migration to cities, but to provide truly amazing spaces, that doesn’t cost the earth, in any respect…
